Who Or What Is The Subject Of Faith?

  • Can Plants ever believed in God?
  • Can rock ever believed in God?
  • Can birds ever believed in God?

Man is the only God’s creation who can believe in Him. Look at the great men and women of faith in the Old and New Testaments and see what they had accomplished “by faith.”

Let us look at Hebrew 11. Let us see:-

  • Hebrew 11:4 By faith Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did…
  • Hebrew 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death..
  • Hebrew 11:7 By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family…
  • Hebrew 11:8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going…
  • Hebrew 11:13 All these people were still living by faith when they died.

What Faith Is?

Ingredient for the right kind of Faith

  • The Bible teaches that the substance of faith (what faith is) is :-
  • belief;
  • a complete trust,
  • assurance or
  • confidence.

A. There is no fear in the right kind of faith

Mark 5:36 – Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

Reading from verse 31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ “ But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. He said to her, “Daughter your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. ‘Your daughter is dead,” they said. ‘Why bother the teacher any more?”

What Happened After That?

Verse 37 – He (Jesus) did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James.

Why Did Jesus Did Not Let Anyone Follow Him Except Peter, James & John?

Verse 38 -40 When they came to the home of the synagogue ruler, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was.

Why Jesus Put All Those People Who Laughed At Him Out?

Verse 41 – He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”)

And what happened? Verse 42 – Immediately the girl stood up and walked around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.

Same story was told in Luke 8:50 – Hearing this Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”
