Prophecy And Miracles


The Bible includes 66 books written by 40 different men over 1500 years. These men were of widely different generations, localities and backgrounds. There were kings, tax collector, fisherman, physicians, etc. They lived in Israel, Babylon, Rome, etc., from 1400 BC to 100 AD. Their writings show no contradictions at all. Mere human wisdom could never be able to achieve such unity.

Religious teachers who write by human wisdom rarely agree among themselves. The Bible must be the product of one supreme God, the Bible is God’s word.

Prophecy proves that the true God exists. God refused to allow His praise to be given to other false gods. Only a Supreme Being can foretell the future accurately. If the God of the Bible can do this, then He must exist and must be the true God. Prophecy proves that Jesus was God’s Son.

Prophecy shows which men were truly spokesmen for God. If the Bible writers could infallibly predict the future, surely this indicate God was working through them.

We can know that what a man speaks is not true, if he tries to predict the future and it never came to past.

Mere men, writing by their own human wisdom, could never have predicted the future like this. This witness testifies that God exists and that He spoke through these men. Since Jesus fulfilled these prophecies, He must be the Messiah, the King, the Prophet, and Savior God sent into the world.

A miracle, according to the Bible, is not just any unusual event, nor would an event be called a miracle just because God caused it. A miracle is an event that is impossible by natural law, but is brought to pass by the supernatural power of God.

The miracle were : Jesus raised a man from the dead.

Jesus walked on the water.

Jesus fed 5000 men with five loaves and two fish.

Jesus also miraculously healed all kinds of diseases such as leprosy, blindness, deafness, lameness, withered hands. Jesus works proved that He was sent by the Fathe.

If men claimed to be directly guided by God and they could do works that could occur only by the power of God, then people would know God was working in those men and they would believe their message.
